Our BSc Business Administration (Top-up) course will build on your previous studies to add a contemporary and critical view of business within the twenty-first century. You'll explore the challenges of being a business leader on a global stage and we will equip you to lead effectively and drive change.
With a focus on new technologies and AI, we'll teach you to proactively drive business forward through the use of digital strategies and capabilities. As innovators, you will be able to influence and shift strategic direction and the world of work.
In your modules you will explore how entrepreneurship, innovation, and emerging technologies shape modern business strategy and organisational success. You will examine the theory and practice of entrepreneurship and its role in sustaining long‑term business viability, alongside the strategic importance of Human Resource Management in influencing organisational performance. Through a live business simulation, you will gain practical experience making strategic decisions, managing stakeholders, resolving conflicts, and balancing financial and ethical considerations. You will be introduced to AI system thinking and the development of AI agents, combining theory with hands‑on experience using no‑code tools, enabling you to design AI-driven solutions that support decision‑making, automation, and wider organisational impact.
Your business project is an opportunity for you to take on a practical business issue or develop a new business idea. You'll gain the skills and knowledge to diagnose, investigate and solve organisational problems or generate entrepreneurial ideas and translate these into meaningful business plans.

Applicants will have previously studied and successfully completed one of the following:
- A relevant HND with a grade of Merit or above
- A relevant foundation degree with a score of 50% or above
- Level 5 of a relevant undergraduate degree with a score of 50% or above
- An international equivalent to any of the above

English Language Requirements
IELTS 6.5 with 6.0 in all components, or equivalent. If your first language is not English, you may need to provide evidence of your English language ability.

You will be taught by academics who are leading researchers and industry practitioners, ensuring you get research and industry informed teaching.
Teaching and learning
You will typically have 9-10 hours a week of timetabled sessions – around 6 hours of lectures and 3-4 hours of seminars or small group work. Lectures will provide you with the framework and foundational knowledge for each subject, whilst seminars, held in smaller groups, provide you with the opportunity to discuss key ideas with your tutor and peers. A variety of teaching methods are used with the aim of creating a stimulating environment in which you are encouraged to develop your learning skills and to actively engage and participate in your learning process.
Assessment methods varied to allow you to develop a range of academic and transferable skills throughout your programme and these include individual essays, examinations, presentations and group activities.
Independent learning
When not attending lectures, seminars or other timetabled sessions you will be expected to continue learning independently through self-study. Typically, this will involve reading journal articles and books, working on individual and group projects, undertaking research in the library, preparing coursework assignments and presentations, and preparing for exams. To help with your independent learning, you can access the Library and our social study spaces in halls of residence and our learning spaces at Brookfield.

You will be taught by an experienced teaching team whose expertise and knowledge are closely matched to the content of the modules on the course.
