AI System Thinking and AI Agent
Module code: MK3001
This module develops your capability to design, prototype, and critically evaluate AI agent-enabled solutions in organisational and societal contexts. You will synthesise core AI concepts and AI agent principles (e.g. how agents perceive, plan, act and learn; tool use; human-in-the-loop) and apply them to real business and public-sector challenges. Using systems thinking and relevant theoretical frameworks, you will diagnose complex problems, map stakeholders and feedback loops, and select appropriate AI approaches with clear assumptions and boundaries.
Through design thinking for AI innovation, you will work iteratively from problem discovery to solution concepting, testing, and refinement, making justified trade-offs between value, feasibility, risk and responsibility. A key feature is hands-on development: you will build a functional prototype AI agent using no-code/low-code tools, learning practical skills in workflow design, prompt/agent configuration, data handling, and evaluation.
This module places strong emphasis on responsible and ethical AI. You will assess potential impacts (fairness, bias, privacy, safety, transparency, accountability, sustainability) and develop mitigation strategies aligned with professional and regulatory expectations. By the end, you will able to communicate decisions and evidence in a client - and stakeholder-ready manner, demonstrating independent judgement and reflective practice in the design and deployment of AI agent solutions.
