The University of Leicester are investing £9m in 100 PGR Scholarships for entry in autumn 2022 as part of its ambition to deliver on its strategic aim to ‘nurture the next generation of researchers to become world-leaders in their field’.

  • 100 Fully Funded* PhD Projects available
  • PhD study to start 26th September 2022
  • Applications welcome from UK (Home) students.
  • International applicants* are welcome to apply but must be able to fund the difference between UK and International fees for the duration of their studies. 
  • Application closing date 11th March 2022

Leicestershire Healthcare Inequalities Improvement Doctoral Training Programme  (Funded by Wellcome Trust)

Various projects to support nurses, midwives, allied health professionals and doctors (especially GP’s)
Funding will cover three years’ salary for each Fellow, as well as experimental research costs and training
Total of 25 award over 5 years (may be taken on a part-time basis)
Open to UK and International applicants - refer to the project page for eligibility.
Start date: September 2022

College of Life Sciences Studentship: Delay in heart failure diagnosis: identifying clinical and care factors from longitudinal studies using national linkage database
