University terms

All term and semester dates are subject to confirmation. Individual departments/schools may have activities outside of these dates, so please check with the relevant department/school for the latest information.

Please note that these term dates are only applicable to undergraduate students. Postgraduate research and PGCE students are not entitled to the indicated University vacation periods. Postgraduate taught students are entitled to the standard three-week Christmas vacation and to a two-week Easter vacation encompassing the Easter bank holidays and University closure days. Postgraduate taught students on 16-month programmes starting in January are entitled to a summer vacation period in the first year of their programme of study. Postgraduate taught students on 12-month programmes are not entitled to a summer vacation. 

The Academic Year runs from 1 August to 31 July.
