Centre for Academic Achievement
Supporting students to reach their academic potential
The Centre for Academic Achievement is based on the ground floor of the David Wilson Library and is a place where you can develop your academic, information seeking and mathematical skills.
Find out how to start an essay, do a literature search, embed critical analysis into your assessments by booking onto one of our skills workshops or get advice from one of the team to work through any challenges linked to your studies you may be facing.
The team is made up of maths advisors, academic librarians, and academic skills advisors. They also develop guides and other resources so you can develop your skills whenever and wherever it suits you.

The centre is very nice, helpful and non-judgemental place for advice. They have always been very happy to help me.
I attended a maths help meeting so that I could answer questions from a tutorial. After attending, I felt much more confident about answering the tutorial questions.
The tutor helped me understand the concepts very well, and very easily explained how to start and go about writing an essay with simple examples.
