James Harvey BSc

James is a Project Officer at ULAS, with over 15 years archaeological experience, directing excavations on a wide range of urban and rural sites. He specialises in prehistoric landscapes.

James graduated in 2001 with a first in his Archaeology BSc from Leicester. Having participated in research excavations and working on excavations in Essex he joined ULAS in 2002. Here he has worked on various rural settlement sites notably Neolithic mortuary activity (Melton Mowbray, published in Transactions of Leicestershire Society 2011), and large multi-phase prehistoric and Roman sites (Mawsley, Northants, published in Northamptonshire Archaeology 2015); Pineham, Northants; and Willington, Derbys. He is co-director of the Bradgate Park Field School, teaching excavation skills to undergraduate students within the School of Archaeology and Ancient History.
