University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) is an award-winning commercial archaeological unit that undertakes contracts in England and Wales, with the majority of our work focused in the Midlands.
Our team includes experienced specialists in many different archaeological fields, and we can call on the expertise of academic staff within the University who have detailed, up-to-date knowledge in a wide range of relevant subjects.
ULAS is open for business to deliver a wide range of professional archaeological services. Our office-based staff continue to work remotely and procedures have been put in place to enable fieldwork to take place where it is safe to do so.
The wellbeing of our staff, clients, volunteers and visitors remains our highest priority and working alongside the University we have developed a safe working strategy and dynamic risk assessment in line with Government guidance to assess fieldwork on a site by site basis. We have a number of measures in place to help to support our staff to follow this guidance and to maintain their physical and mental wellbeing.
All staff remain contactable via email. If you have an enquiry relating to a specific project, please contact the relevant Project Manager. If you have a general enquiry for ULAS please email us and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
