Your learning will be assessed by coursework involving individual assignments (essays, writing exercises, news reports using different media platforms) and group work.
As well as more formal lectures and academic seminars, teaching will use less formal small-group methods (workshops, seminars, and studio/Mac-lab sessions) to support group work and enable greater student-staff interaction and collaboration.
We will help you to develop your practical skills with assessments including news stories, features, broadcast packages and web-based journalism. You will create portfolios, as well as becoming skilled in more traditional academic formats such as essays, in-class presentations and group reports. One of the First Year core modules will be partly assessed by a written exam.
You will be supported through your studies by a proactive personal tutoring system.
