Islamic Art

After a teacher led introduction looking at examples of Islamic Art and the use of plants in art. The children go around the Garden to sketch different examples of parts of plants.

They then return to the classroom and use their sketches to create stencils of plant parts. These are then used as a repeated pattern to create their own artistic piece. Year 3/4 build their work on two parallel wavy lines. Year 5/6 create their pattern in a twelve sided shape.

  • Duration: Half a day
  • Numbers: One class
    Two classes can be accommodated if the visit is for a full day and includes a half-day version of the numeracy and nature programme
  • Cost: £3.90 per child for half-day (minimum charge £93.60), £4.90 for full day (minimum charge £117.60) with a half-day of maths
