The cluster for Finance, Governance and Enterprise (CFGE) is a multidisciplinary platform combining research in finance, accounting, entrepreneurship, innovation, organisational behaviour and marketing. It offers research expertise in the following research areas:
- Financial markets and institutions
- Investor and investee behaviours
- Financial sustainability and climate change issues
- Governance and Accountability
- Entrepreneurship and SMEs
- Technological innovation
CFGE draws its core strength from the Economics, Finance and Accounting (EFA) and Marketing, Innovation, Strategy and Operations (MISO) departments within the School of Business, as well as collaboration with experts from the College of Science and Engineering, the College of Life Science and the College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities.
Its external collaborators include the Bank of England, the Institute for Chartered Accountants for England and Wales, the Institute for Chartered Accountants, the Department for Work and Pensions, Family Business UK and the Family Business Research Foundation, Entrepreneur and Innovation Exchange, and FamilyBusiness.org.

Student Research Internships
The CFGE offers research opportunities for ULSB students. These research internships are based on voluntary work with individual members of staff. Specific internships will be advertised in due course.
Ania Zalewska – I would like to work with students interested in empirical research on (i) changes in ESG characteristics of companies, (ii) venture capital investments in biodiversity and (iii) market risk characteristics of banks.
