Headings
Headings help to structure your content.
They’re also important for accessibility, as those using screen readers can tab through each heading, hear the heading and decide if it is relevant to them, or if they can move onto the next heading/piece of content. This means that they don’t need to have the entire page of content read aloud to them and can self-select the relevant content.
The title of the page is the Heading 1. There can only be one Heading 1, so the first heading used on your page should be Heading 2.
How to apply a heading
Place your cursor anywhere in the content you would like to make a heading.
Select the appropriate heading from the dropdown menu.

Formatting headings
Do not reformat headings. They are configured exactly how they should show in the Content Management System. Do not make them bold, italicise or underline.
Headings should never be links. This is for accessibility, as those using screen readers can generate a list of links on a page. If the link is within a heading, the screen reader will not pick this up. Any links relating to the heading should be in the content beneath the heading.
