Inspirational Women

The University’s first Wall of Inspirational Women was unveiled in March 2015. Specially commissioned photographs of 12 inspirational women were displayed on the first floor of the Fielding Johnson Building, just outside the Council Chamber, for the next seven years. 

In June 2022, a second cohort of 15 inspirational women were photographed, along with new portraits of the five woman from the 2015 cohort still working at the University. Unveiling the new photographs on the same wall, President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Nishan Canagarajah said: “By harnessing the talent of individuals, whatever their protected characteristic, we can only become stronger. Education is nothing if it is not universal.”
