It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jamie Brodella, a cherished member of our community and the Team Leader for Portering and Cleaning Services. Jamie passed away peacefully leaving behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and progressive leadership.
Jamie began his career at Space Park as a Facilities Assistant, quickly distinguishing himself with his enthusiastic spirit and forward-thinking ideas. His passion for improving the work environment and his unwavering commitment to his team propelled him to the role of Team Leader, a position he held with distinction.
In his capacity as Team Leader, Jamie was proud and instrumental in leading the team at the Sir Bob Burgess Building, ensuring it was maintained to the highest standards. His efforts were pivotal during the first years’ operating the building, a project that showcased his exceptional organisational skills and his dedication to excellence.
Jamie was more than a leader; he was a friend to all who had the pleasure of working with him. His approachable nature and willingness to listen made him a beloved figure within the University community. Jamie always made time to help others, offering a kind word or a helping hand whenever it was needed. His warmth and genuine care for his colleagues created an environment where everyone felt valued and supported.
Jamie’s legacy is one of compassion, innovation, and unwavering support for his team. He will be deeply missed by his colleagues, friends, and all who knew him.
