Sharon Finlayson

We have learned, with great sadness, of the death of Sharon Finlayson, a retired member of professional services who passed away on 27 December 2024.

Sharon worked for the University for 19 years, from December 1996, where she held a number of administration positions which included the International Office, Economics and Management. Sharon was a bubbly person in the office yet really efficient in her roles.

Stephen Wood remembers from his initial years at Leicester, where Sharon was the support person for the role: "She was a lovely person and extremely effective in that role and especially helpful in easing my transition to Leicester."

She was sorely missed when she retired from the School of Management in 2015.

Sharon was a well-respected colleague within the School of Management and with colleagues across the wider University, she will be dearly missed.
