Tor Clark talks popularity of ITVs Love Island and predicts who will win tonights series final

Tor Clark, Associate Professor in Journalism, and a regular media commentator for BBC Radio Leicester, has discussed the Love Island phenomenon with presenter Ady Dayman and why the programme draws in such a large audience.

With the series final airing tonight, Tor has suggested that one of the most appealing aspects of Love Island is that it creates a shared experience, allowing families and work colleagues to keep up with the drama and latest gossip. The simplistic format, designed as something of a ‘stripped down Big Brother’, Tor says, also adds to its mainstream appeal.

Tor has also predicted that the winning couple of this series will be Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham, based on their on-screen chemistry and long-running coupling.

Love Island is a British dating reality show that sees a group of contestants brought together in a villa in Majorca in the hope of finding true love.

The extra-long final episode of Love Island will air from 9:00PM to 10.35PM on ITV2 tonight (30 July).
