University of Leicester maintains strong performance with 31st placing in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide
The University of Leicester has reinforced its position among the top forty UK universities after being ranked 31st in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2027
Placing Leicester in the top three universities in the East Midlands, it continues a sustained period of strong performance across major national and international league tables.
The latest recognition follows the publication of the Guardian University Guide 2027 last week, which placed Leicester at =39th among UK universities and seven subject areas in their respective national top ten. Together, the results highlight the University's consistency across the sector's most influential rankings and it remains within the UK's top 40 institutions across all major domestic and international league tables.
Last month, Leicester recorded its highest-ever position in the Daily Mail University Guide 2027, rising seven places to 27th= out of 128 UK universities. It also maintained its place among the UK's leading institutions in the Complete University Guide 2027. Earlier this year, the University rose 12 places in the QS World University Rankings 2027 to =314th place and achieved its third consecutive year of improvement in the National Student Survey.
The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2027 offers a comprehensive overview of higher education in Britain, analysing factors including student satisfaction with teaching quality and experience, degree continuation rates, research quality, sustainability, and graduate prospects. It also includes detailed online profiles for 133 universities, covering campus facilities, scholarships and bursaries, and nightlife.
From this academic year, every University of Leicester student will have full access to Microsoft 365 Copilot, reflecting the University's ambition to be at the forefront of AI-enabled education. By integrating generative AI into learning, teaching and assessment, Leicester is ensuring graduates leave equipped to use emerging technologies and ready to harness, shape and lead the innovations transforming society and industry. This commitment sits alongside Leicester's guarantee of 100 hours of employer-informed work-related learning on every undergraduate degree and a research-inspired educational experience.
