Top employers target Leicester graduate high fliers

The University of Leicester has been recognised in the High Fliers ‘Graduate Market in 2017’ as being a top 25 University to target by the top 100 graduate employers. The annual report by High Fliers Research is a study of the graduate employment market by one hundred best-known and most successful employers.

Many top employers are unable to visit all UK universities to promote their graduate and internship opportunities and therefore focus their resource at a selected number of institutions. In an ever competitive graduate recruitment market, more emphasis is placed on return on investment and the universities in the top 25 offer the best opportunity to do that. The University of Leicester has been ranked 24th.

President & Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Boyle said: “We are delighted that so many leading graduate employers are continuing to recruit from the University of Leicester. Our award-winning approach to developing skills has led to an employability rate of 94% as we continue to successfully prepare our students for professional careers.”

The report also found that although many questions are still unanswered following the Brexit vote, Britain’s top employers are expecting to continue growing their graduate recruitment in 2017 by a projected 4.3%. The list of the top 25 universities can be found on page 31 of the report.
