Computing at Leicester

Computing is a vibrant and diverse discipline ranging from the management and architecture of global IT projects, through to the scientific development of innovative theories and technologies.

We take a dynamic, scientific and rigorous approach to computing. Our researchers have played a major part in developing modern trends in Informatics and this is reflected in our teaching, where we have a strong tradition of high-level and innovative courses.

Computing at Leicester is part of the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences.


The University’s research is ranked 30 in the UK in the Research Excellence Framework 2021, according to analysis by Times Higher Education.
