Bardon: Beatrice Caplain (b.1901) and Audrey Wilkinson reminiscence about the Wakes held annually in the village and cricket games in the summer.

Barkby: Jennifer Baines (b.1879) talks about her limited schooling in the village.

Barwell: Artie Payne talks about watching a theatre group called the 'Blood Hut' and walking from Barwell to Earl Shilton to watch silent movies at a cinema. He recalls a time when the cinema caught fire. This interview was recording in 1984.

Blaby: Marcel Everitt (b.1914) recalls the fairs and Wakes at Blaby and Whetstone. This interview was recorded in 1986.

Ibstock: Brenda Clark (b.1913) remembers local entertainments and holidays, particularly the Wakes in the village. She was interviewed in 1988.

Melton Mowbray: Erik Brownlow (b.1905) describes live theatre in Melton Mowbray in the first half of the 20th century. He talks about his role as a musician, playing music to accompany the dramas. This interview was recorded in 1986.
