Poppy Jones

After graduating I secured a graduate position in the plastics industry. Here I worked in the testing and analysis labs. After a few years I decided to spend some time travelling the world which was incredible. I now work in the defence and aerospace industry as an R&D Propellant Chemist. It's a fantastic job that is both challenging and enjoyable. I hope to carry my career forward in the industry and become a technical expert in my area. 

When I was younger I wasn't sure what subject I wanted to do, but Chemistry was definitely the right one! I will never forget my time in Leicester and the people I met. I made some great friends and had some fantastic experiences. The Chemistry Department was so supportive and it was a sad day when I left!
