Junior Emergency Medicine (JEM)
Do you have an interest in the fast-paced world of Accident and Emergency? Are you interested in a future in healthcare? If so, then Junior Emergency Medicine (JEM) may be for you.
This free two-day, hands-on event is designed for students in year 12 who are thinking about a career in medicine or healthcare and want to come and experience real life simulations working alongside current doctors, nurses and undergraduate students.
When?
- Saturday 1 November 2025, 9.30am-3.30pm
- Saturday 15 November 2025, 9.15am-4.30pm
It is essential that you are able to attend both days in full in order to be offered a place.
Programme Information
Over the two days, you will explore breathing and circulation, the A-E assessment, blood pressure, ECG and cardiac arrest. There will also be a chance to work in our state-of-the-art clinical skills lab based down at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
All students who attend both days of the event will receive a certificate for their portfolios. It is also a great experience to add to personal statements and reflect on for medicine and healthcare interviews.
