Barclays to help businesses grow at Space Park Leicester

Space and defence organisations and entrepreneurs will soon have access to extra expert business support to help them innovate and grow at Space Park Leicester thanks to Barclays Eagle Labs.
Barclays Eagle Labs Leicester provides business support, growth programmes and events to help organisations at its lab at De Montfort University and its team will soon complement this support by working with Space Park Leicester, the University of Leicester’s £100m space research, innovation and teaching hub.
Barclays Eagle Labs Leicester will co-host events with Space Park Leicester and its Ecosystem Manager, Poonam Sharma, will visit Space Park Leicester on a regular basis.
Dr Francesca Faedi, Academic Liaison for Commercial and Innovation Activities at Space Park Leicester, said: “One of the major opportunities for Space Park Leicester is the ability to act not only as a centre for research excellence, but as a catalyst for commercial ecosystem development across space, AI, defence, MedTech and other deep-tech sectors.
“Building stronger links with organisations such as Barclays Eagle Labs helps create the practical infrastructure needed to support founders, scale-ups and innovators – from investment readiness and networking through to commercial partnerships and growth support.
“My vision has always been to help position Space Park Leicester as a place where research, industry and capital can interact more effectively to accelerate innovation and commercial impact across the region.”
Space Park Leicester Head of Commercial and Innovation, Vinay Patel, added: “Earlier this year we were thrilled to host the first ever AI Breakfast Club, sponsored by Barclays Eagle Labs and Twin Path Ventures, in the Midlands.
“We’re delighted that Barclays Eagle Labs is now joining our community at Space Park Leicester where it will use its expertise to help companies to grow and innovate.
“Their work at Space Park Leicester will have a particular focus on space and defence and will provide additional support to the existing Barclays Eagle Labs’ lab based at De Montfort University which helps founders and entrepreneurs.”
