The University of Leicester has appointed a creative and brand expert to the role of an Entrepreneur in Residence, to help staff, students and graduates develop their business ideas.

The University of Leicester has an Entrepreneur in Residence Network which is made up of local business leaders and entrepreneurs who support many entrepreneurial initiatives and activities for students and graduates.

Working closely with business leaders and local entrepreneurs provides the University of Leicester with a creative and innovative network of partners who can advise, guide and support on the way in which the University delivers interventions.

In January 2026, the University was pleased to appoint Mark Robinson, co-founder of Creative62 to the role of an Entrepreneur in Residence following his contribution to supporting projects and guest lectures within marketing programmes in the School of Business.

On joining the network, Mark said "The next phase of education is about developing much stronger on- and off-campus commercial relationships - places where academic knowledge blends with real-world commercial experience and insight. University of Leicester is leading the way with its Entrepreneur in Residence Network. It’s a privilege to be involved, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve together."

Mark has extensive experience in a range of creative agencies across Leicestershire and holds further roles supporting businesses locally as a director at Leicestershire Business Voice and Chair of the Blaby Business Board, both of which support businesses to seek opportunities to grow and develop.

Students, graduates and staff at the University of Leicester can benefit from the Entrepreneur in Residence Network including booking appointments to seek feedback on their entrepreneurial plans or have the business leader’s support enterprise-related activities in and outside of the curriculum.

Tom Ledgard, Head of Careers and Employability at the University of Leicester, commented: “Many students share an entrepreneurial interest, either through running their own business and identifying products or services to meet target market needs, or by demonstrating innovation and creative skills in their future workplace through consultancy challenges or hackathon-like activities.

“Formally recognising Mark’s contribution to recent student cohorts within our marketing degree programmes highlights the local business community commitment to supporting future talent and ensuring that they are well equipped to be successful after graduation.”
