Leicester team visits University of Babylon
Six representatives of the University of Leicester have paid a visit to the University of Babylon, Iraq.
Dr Emma Dwyer, Research and Enterprise Office; Dr Karzan Karim, Research and Enterprise Office; Dr Wadhah Mahbuba, International Office; Dr Muhammad Al-Uzri, University Hospitals; Professor Roey Sweet, School of History, Politics & International Relations; Dr Ruth Young, School of Archaeology & Ancient History, were hosted by the University of Babylon as guest of the VC, Professor Adel Al Baghdady.
Discussions around research and teaching collaboration took place, along with a conference on the intention to have the site of Babylon inscribed on the UNESCO WH list, and the 40th celebrations of the University of Babylon itself.
Further to their discussions, the team look forward to moving the relationship forward in the near future.
