Student Welfare Service welcomes international students to Leicester with English Tea Party
Our University has welcomed international students arriving to the University this month with a series of events for International Welcome Week 2017.
As part of the effort to integrate new students into life at the University and offer the chance to meet other students, the Student Welfare Service and the University's Chaplaincy hosted activities which culminated with the delights of afternoon tea at an English Tea Party on Friday (13 January) afternoon.
As part of International Welcome Week, students starting at the University this month were also given tours of the campus and invited to talks which covered a range of issues, from money and employment to health and personal safety.
The aim of the week of events was to allow new students to settle into life in Leicester quickly and make the most of their time with the University.
Claire Heggs, Head of Student Welfare Services, said: “There has been a whole week of events lined up for international students arriving at the University of Leicester this week.
“Our International Welcome Week is specifically designed to help new international student settle into the University, living in Leicester and help them integrate and make new friends. The programme incorporated social activities, campus tours and useful information sessions.”
