Postgraduate study

The Master of Laws (LLM) at the University of Leicester is a one-year campus-based Masters degree (two years if you choose to study part-time). You can enhance your general legal skills with the LLM, or take the opportunity to specialise in a particular stream of the law, such as international human rights law or international commercial law.

You will be taught by staff with expertise across legal boundaries, and you will receive excellent small-group teaching which integrates world-leading and internationally excellent research. You will be studying for a highly-regarded degree that will enhance your legal skills and knowledge, providing an outstanding foundation for legal and other careers.

International Business and Corporate Law LLM

This is for you if... you want to enhance your legal skills and knowledge associated with business transactions and corporate law at national and international levels.

International Commercial Law LLM
1-2 years, full- or part-time
This is for you if... you want a career in the globalised economy and are seeking opportunities in the highly competitive area of international markets and the commercial world.

International Human Rights Law LLM
1-2 years, full- or part-time
This is for you if... you are interested in exploring how international human rights law addresses the major challenges facing the world today. You will love this stream if you are interested in world affairs and how politics and international institutions intersect with international law.

International Law LLM
1-2 years, full- or part-time
This is for you if... you want a flexible programme that will give you an in-depth understanding of both public and private international law and will equip you with the advanced knowledge of the rules and principles that govern the way nations deal with each other.

Public International Law LLM
1-2 years, full- or part-time
This is for you if... you want expertise in the law which governs relations between states, international organizations, corporations and individuals on a worldwide scale.

Distance learning
