School-Centred Initial Teacher Training PGCE
School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) providers are networks of schools approved by the government to run their own teacher training courses and award Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
On a SCITT PGCE course, all or most of your training, support and practical teaching placements are provided by the SCITT and take place in schools within the partnership. The University quality-assures your Masters-level work for the award of the PGCE, and may also provide some teaching. Different SCITTs will offer different subject choices, so you should contact them directly to discuss the options.
