Leicester and Leicestershire SCITT is an outstanding provider of teacher training.

The one-year course in either Primary or Secondary teaching allows you to be based in a school environment from Day 1 for your training and your placements will be in one of many schools we work with across Leicester and Leicestershire.  

You will work towards obtaining your QTS and a full PGCE (awarded by the University of Leicester) award with masters credits in our full-time, term-time course. 

SCITT trainees come from very diverse backgrounds, with very different levels of school and life experience prior to starting the course, but everyone is welcomed into the SCITT community and supported by leading, expert practitioners, to develop their full potential as learners and teachers.

The SCITT offers the following primary PGCE programmes:

• Primary PGCE (3-7yrs)
• Primary PGCE (5-11yrs)
• Primary PGCE with a Mathematics specialism (5-11yrs)
• Primary PGCE with SEND
