Dr Rebecca Cordell

I am a senior research scientist in the Atmospheric Chemistry group. I have research interests in atmospheric composition and air quality, with a particular focus on the role of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in health and disease. I specialise in VOC determination using spectrometric techniques, including two-dimensional gas chromatography coupled mass spectrometry (GCxGC-MS) and the real-time VOC monitoring technique proton transfer reaction-mass spectrometry (PTR-MS). I lead the indoor air and health project within the HPRU which is focussed on quantifying VOCs within the indoor environment, determining their sources, potential health effects and how to mitigate personal exposure.
