Botanic Garden and Attenborough Arboretum

Opening times
The Botanic Garden and Attenborough Arboretum are open throughout the year, seven days a week, 10.00am to 4.00pm (5.00pm during British Summer Time), except:
- The Garden is closed on 25 December, 26 December and 1 January
- The glasshouses are closed at weekends, on bank holidays and over the Christmas period
- The Arboretum is closed over the whole Christmas to New Year period.
Location
The Botanic Garden entrance is on Glebe Road (LE2 2LD). There are bicycle racks at the Garden entrance and there is car parking on the road.
The Attenborough Arboretum entrance is on Carisbrooke Road (LE2 3PF). There is a small car-park.
Entry
Entry is free to the Garden and Arboretum except on special events days. Only assistance dogs are permitted (see Dogs policy).
Accessibility and facilities
The paths are suitable for wheelchair users.
There are no refreshment facilities at the Garden or Arboretum. However we offer refreshments at some of our special events.
Greenhouses - Garden only
The alpine, desert, warm temperate and tropical greenhouses are open Monday to Friday 10.00-3.00pm but closed over the Christmas period

Scattering ashes
Owing to the high number of school groups and casual visitors who use all parts of the Garden and Arboretum, we do not allow the scattering of cremation ash in either location.
