Adult courses and workshops

We offer a range of courses and workshops for adults. For more information or to book, please view the course entries below or telephone 0116 271 2933 or email us.

Botany for beginners

Regrettably this course will not run this year due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Take the Botany for beginners course and  learn to identify at least 350 local wild plants. Held at weekends, seven modules are offered which can be taken in any number and combination. Each focuses on a different habitat.

Plant identification skills

Module 2 of this course will not take place in 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

This course is taught through a combination of lectures, laboratory classes and field trips, and is aimed at anyone keen to develop their plant identification skills.

Floristry workshops

Various floristry workshops are held throughout the year at the Botanic Garden.

Guided tours

Tours of the Botanic Garden can be arranged for organised groups or as gifts for a special occasion. The tours are led by a trained guide and last about 90 minutes.

Collaborations

Several independent art groups meet regularly at the Garden or Arboretum. Why not join one of them? We also collaborate with the Attenborough Arts Centre to provide a programme of summer art courses.
