The Centre for Victorian Studies
The Centre for Victorian Studies
We have a distinguished record of innovation and excellence in interdisciplinary research and teaching at postgraduate level. Established in 1966 with a generous grant from the Leverhulme Trust, we are the longest established Centre for Victorian Studies in Britain. We offer a well-established Masters Programme in Victorian Studies and have a thriving community of research students.
The Centre's research and teaching staff are drawn from the College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, and comprise members from English, History (which includes the internationally renowned Centres for Urban History and Regional and Local History) and History of Art and Film.
We also have various international links, including with the National Library of India, Kolkata and the English Department at the Tianjin Normal University, China.
