Frequently asked questions

Where will my clinical placements be?

We work with University Hospitals of Leicester, Leicestershire Partnership Trust and a small number of private, voluntary and independent placement providers.

Acute placements take place in the three hospitals in Leicester and community placements across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We try and consider your individual travel circumstances when allocating placements.

What support is there on the course?

All our students have a Personal Tutor who will support you with academic and pastoral issues. In addition, our students run a peer-mentoring programme for each year of the programme - you will be well looked after.

Do you provide uniforms?

We do provide uniforms. You will need to supply your own shoes.

Is there a nursing student society?

Our current students are setting up a nursing society within the Students’ Union and we hope this will be up and running by the time you commence your course.

Which University accommodation should I book?

While Oadby Student Village is a great place to stay, we recommend booking The City accomodation to make it easier to travel to your placement.
