Medicine Calling

Medicine Calling logoMedicine Calling is on a mission to inform, inspire and kickstart careers in mental health care. The mental health sector offers a diverse range of stimulating and rewarding careers. But students don’t always know about them. We’re working to equip young people with the knowledge and guidance required to work in these professions.

What do we do?

We organise free face to face and virtual events for young people to find out more about careers in the mental health sector. You’ll hear from inspiring speakers, join interactive workshops and chat to real professionals working in mental health care.

We can also visit your school or college to talk to your students about careers in the sector. To request a talk, please email hello@medicinecalling.co.uk.

School events

We run workshops as part of Pre-16 University Experience Days, where local schools or colleges can bring a group of up to 40 students to campus. See below the list of events where Medicine Calling is taking part:

  • Year 9 and 10: Working in the NHS, including Medicine Calling – Wednesday 22 April 2026
  • Year 7 and 8: Become a life saver, including Medicine Calling - Wednesday 1 July 2026

Expressions of interest are open for schools to submit their interest in attending any of the above events.

We also run a number of free-to-attend events for students at the University of Leicester. We are currently planning our events for 2025/26 so keep an eye on this page for more information.
