School of Education event management privacy notice

The School of Education is part of the University of Leicester. The University of Leicester is the Data Controller for your information.

This privacy notice explains how we use your personal information and your rights regarding that information.

What information are you collecting?

  • Name
  • Name and address of work place
  • Email address and other contact details
  • Job title
  • Dietary and accessibility requirements are only collected under your explicit consent

Why are you collecting my data?

In order to take bookings for our events and then to manage and administer those events we need to ask for certain details about you and where you work. 

If you have opted in to receive marketing information from us we need your email address and/or postal address.

How will you use this data?

We use this data to manage and administer our events and to market to you if you have opted in to receive our mailings. 

What is the legal basis for processing the data?

We will process your personal and special category data under your explicit consent.

If you are sharing my data with others, who are you sharing it with?

If you book onto a CLEAPSS course then they request your name and workplace in order to be able to send you a Certificate of Attendance.  

How long will you process my data for?

We will keep email and paper correspondence for 2 years as we often have requests, long after an event has occurred, for confirmation that a person did attend.

We will keep your details on our event management database.
