Your full name, e-mail address, contact telephone number and employer (media outlet that you work for).
Why are you collecting my data?
To enable the University of Leicester News Centre to include you on our mailing lists for the purposes of keeping you informed, in a timely manner, about relevant news and potential stories that you may use as the basis of your own media activity. This forms part of the University’s duty to disseminate knowledge as laid out under its Royal Charter.
How will you use this data?
To send you press releases, events invitations and other communications that inform you of recent research developments; newsworthy activity of the University’s staff or students; or expertise, that can assist in the production of media stories. We may also contact you by e-mail or phone to request corrections or amendments.
What is the legal basis for processing the data?
We process your data on the basis of public task as we view interaction between the University of Leicester and our press contacts as a vital part of the University of Leicester’s obligation to inform the public about our activities, and therefore a necessary component of the professional activity of both parties.

We may share your data with other University departments. We will not share data with external third parties.
