Leicester contributes to Universities UK Future Jobs Roadmap
The University of Leicester has contributed to the newly published Universities UK Future Jobs Roadmap, a major national initiative exploring how universities, employers and government can work together to meet future skills needs and support graduates into good jobs.
Earlier this year, the University hosted one of 13 roundtable events held across the UK as part of the initiative, pictured above. The discussions brought together employers, employer representative bodies and universities to explore the skills, knowledge and opportunities needed to support future economic growth.
The roadmap draws on insights from around 200 employers and employer representative bodies, contributions from 30 universities, a survey of 500 business leaders and case studies from across the higher education sector. It sets out practical recommendations for strengthening collaboration between universities, businesses and government to help address workforce challenges and support future talent.
The University also contributed a case study to the initiative, highlighting its work with employers and partners. As a contributor, Leicester's example forms part of the evidence base underpinning the roadmap's recommendations and is featured alongside case studies from across the sector.
The publication highlights the important role universities play in preparing graduates for the future workforce, supporting innovation and helping employers access the skills they need to grow and succeed.
