Leicester continues rise up Complete University Guide rankings

The University of Leicester has continued its rise up the rankings in the 2026 Complete University Guide.

Leicester went up five places from 36^th to =31^st in the league table ranking of 130 UK Higher Education institutions, which was published on Tuesday 10 June.

This year’s climb builds on last year’s performance in the table, when Leicester moved up from 38^th to 36^th.

The University’s performance in the National Student Survey, which records UK students’ satisfaction levels with their university experience, was one of the factors behind the rise.

The University was also placed 27^th for the quality of its research, 22^nd for continuation, and 25^th for academic services spend, which calculates universities’ expenditure per student on all academic services.

Subjects-wise, Medicine (12th), Italian (12^th) and Communications & Media Studies (16^th) were Leicester’s best-performing subjects, followed by Aeronautical & Aerospace Engineering, General Engineering and Geology (all 17^th).
