Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas on Campus
Sleigh bells ring - are you listening? Our annual Christmas on Campus extravaganza is fast approaching.
The three-day festive celebration, which is free and open to the public, will take place on the University’s central campus from Thursday 7 to Saturday 9 December from 10am to 8pm.
The wide range of activities and events taking place will include:
- Christmas carousel
- Ice rink
- Enactus Farmers’ Market
- The Great Christmas Bake Off
- Goldilocks and the Three Bears Panto
- Meet-and-greet with characters Elsa and Olaf from Disney’s Frozen
And much more!
President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Boyle said: “Every year, our Christmas celebrations get bigger and better and this year we have even extended the festivities into the weekend, so even more visitors will be able to join us on campus. Christmas is a time for bringing the community together and I look forward to seeing our neighbours in the city celebrating alongside our students and staff.
“We will be truly transforming our campus thanks to a dedicated team of staff and students. Whether you are coming with family or friends, you will find plenty to enjoy at the University of Leicester.”
The Christmas on Campus events also form part of the University of Leicester Students’ Union ‘12 Days of Christmas’ campaign, which kicks off on Thursday 30 November through to Friday 15 December in association with the Leicester Services Partnership and Here For U. The programme of events will include a personalised postcard booth, sustainable crafting including wreath-making, gingerbread decorating, festive film and charity days and incredible prize and food giveaways.
