Student on the road to success after being offered placements at leading companies
A student from our Department of Engineering is on the road to success - after being offered industry placements at global companies Rolls-Royce, GE and Bentley.
Mohammed Yousuff Sohaib (pictured) is currently studying for a Master of Engineering Management MEM with Industry and made the applications via the College of Science and Engineering Industrial Placements team.
Mohammed said: “From initially receiving rejections to finally receiving offers from three global companies, one thing I have learnt is that if you devote yourself to an ideal of collective support and learning, then you can become more than an individual - a leader.
“I want to thank the College of Science and Engineering Industrial Placements team for providing such thorough support and encouragement throughout the journey. Their sessions nurtured confidence and provided a direction to concentrate my efforts.”
Aimee Harrisonwild, Industrial Placements Manager for the College, said: “Mohammed has done incredibly well to secure three placement offers from such reputable and high profile organisations. Within the Industrial Placements Office we work tirelessly to bring out the best in our students on 'with industry' degrees via a range of activities and assistance provided in the mandatory Placement Preparation Module.
“Mohammed is a shining example of the successful outcomes that students can achieve when they devote the right amount of time and effort into the programme and follow up on their new leads and contacts. Well done Mohammed!"
