University to offer scholarship opportunities in Museum Studies
A chance to forge a career in the museum and heritage sector is being offered by our University through a scholarship programme.
Following the success of last year’s schemes, the University’s School of Museum Studies is offering six scholarships of £3,000 each.
Four of the scholarships are for applicants from backgrounds that are underrepresented in the museum sector, including people from black and minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled applicants, care leavers, carers and people from lower income households.
The initiative forms part of the School’s long-standing commitment to support the diversification of the UK’s museum workforce. The scholarships schemes are part of a suite of linked initiatives focused on different aspects of diversity and equality.
Two Open Scholarships of £3,000 each are open to all new Master’s and Postgraduate Diploma applicants beginning their campus-based or flexible learning programmes in Autumn 2017.
A further four ‘Diversity Scholarships’, each of £3,000, are open to UK applicants from backgrounds that are underrepresented in the UK museum sector.
The deadline for all applications is 30 June 2017 for students who will commence their studies in Autumn 2017.
To apply for a scholarship you must first complete your course application form and submit the scholarship application form.
Details of eligibility can be found on the School’s website.
