Leicester rises in Times Higher Education World University Rankings
A definitive table of world University rankings has seen the University of Leicester climb 32 places to 167 – placing Leicester firmly among the top 1 per cent of universities in the world.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015-16 published on Wednesday reveals that Leicester ranks among the elite institutions globally.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are the world’s most comprehensive and carefully calibrated global rankings, using several separate performance indicators to examine a university’s strengths against all of its core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
Dr Tracy Carlton, Acting Director of External Relations, said: “We are delighted that Leicester has once again been ranked in the top 200 of Higher Education institutions worldwide, placing us among the top 1% of universities. Leicester is also consistently ranked among the top quartile of universities in the UK and it is pleasing to see that we continue to be recognised among the country’s leading institutions."
Leicester is in the top 25 universities targeted by leading UK employers and Leicester is ranked in the top 25 universities in the Times Higher Education REF Research Power rankings.
