Engineering students launch crowdfunding campaign for Silverstone dream
A group of engineering students at the University have launched our first ever crowdfunding campaign to enable them to compete in an international racing competition.
With the support of the University’s Development and Alumni Relations Office, UoL Racing has set up a hubbub.net page which offers pledgers prizes including signed team pictures, names and messages printed on the team’s banner and an exclusive tour of the UoL Racing facilities in return for their support.
The team are currently building an electric Formula 1 race car which they are hoping to enter at the annual international Formula Student competition in Silverstone this July. Hosted by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Formula Student consists of a series of events to enhance students’ engineering skills and attracts more than 100 student teams from around the world.
