About the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology

The Department of Molecular and Cell Biology is a supportive and inclusive department with a great sense of community in which students, researchers and academics meet scholarly and socially to enrich the learning experience and harness diverse talents to deliver world leading research.

We have approximately 100 academics, researchers and professional services staff, and around 100 postgraduate students. 

Our location

The Department of Molecular and Cell Biology is located in the Henry Wellcome Building on the University of Leicester campus. 

The Department locates world class facilities that reflect the needs of both students and researchers. In addition to facilities at the University such as the award winning David Wilson Library, an inspiring range of specialist seminars and specialist computer services.
