Health and wellbeing
The Library is one of the largest buildings on campus and has the most extensive opening hours of any building. This means that students spend a lot of their time with us at the Library, and for long periods of time. The Library is a safe space which caters for a multitude of requirements, from serious study to relaxed contemplative moments. We are here to support you in your studies and help you find your books, but also to direct you to services that you might know very little about.
The David Wilson Library hosts a series of events in support of health and wellbeing including events associated with Read at Leicester and the leisure collection in the Reading Zone on the ground floor and in support of activities such as Stress Awareness Week and LGBTQIA
In January 2020 Chatty Tables were introduced in the Reading Zone, in association with Student Health and Wellbeing. This enabled students to drop-in and talk to a member of staff from Health and Well Being, the Chaplaincy or a relevant student society (such as MHSA), and pick up further information.
