Why did you choose Leicester Law School?
I chose Leicester because I'd heard and read many great things about the University from alumni both in person and online whilst I was in the process of researching universities to apply to. In particular, I read (and have been lucky to learn first-hand) that Leicester has an environment which encourages students to pursue a healthy and productive balance between academics and extra-curricular activities.
How did you find the transition from Brickfields Asia College and do you have any advice for other students?
My transition from Brickfields Asia College to Leicester was a smooth one in all significant respects. Leicester's faculty and student body alike are quite warm and welcoming which helps you adjust to the culture quickly. My sincere advice for future students is to embrace the change as best as you possibly can, as overwhelming and scary as it might initially be - that's how you can make every day at Leicester a happy and productive one!
What have you enjoyed most about your time so far?
The thing I've enjoyed the most about being at Leicester are my lecturers! Most, if not all of them are brilliant, highly committed, and incredibly inspiring.
Which extracurricular activities have you taken part in?
Since coming to Leicester, I've made a conscious effort to be involved in extracurricular activities. On the law-related side of things, I'm an avid mooter who has participated in many both internal and external moots alike. I've also joined Project LIGHT, one of the many Projects run by Leicester's own Pro Bono Society, which works to lend a helping hand to the homeless community in the city.
What do you like about the city of Leicester?
I absolutely love that Leicester is such a vibrant and bustling city! There is almost always something fun and new to do, and so much of the city to explore. The plethora of good food and cheap shopping available is also very reminiscent of home!
