Course description

Please note, this course is being advertised subject to approval

As globalisation increases, there is a growing demand for leaders and managers with the skills and knowledge to successfully lead in this dynamic, cross-cultural environment.  Our International Business Management BSc by distance learning will help you to understand how businesses operate, compete and grow across borders in a world that is increasingly interconnected.

In the 21st century very few businesses remain untouched by internationalisation.  Whether a company is a multi-national corporation managing subsidiaries around the world, or a start-up sourcing talent and suppliers from different continents, global interdependence is now the norm.  By studying international business management you will be able to make sense of this reality by being equipped with the ability to analyse global trends, anticipate risks, and identify opportunities.

On this course you will explore the forces that shape international markets, the strategies that organisations can use to success globally, and the challenges they face when working across different cultures, legal systems and economic environments.  You will examine the context of globalisation, the application of technology and the shifting political landscapes that directly influence the way we enable success.

At the start of the course you will study the foundational elements of business before taking a deeper look at the international dimension and explore the nuances and complexities of cross-border business and management.  As you head into the final stage you will focus on the means and mechanism by which those leading and managing international businesses can leverage success.

The BSc International Business Management will support your progression or entry into a diverse range of careers in management and leadership, consultancy, finance international marketing or entrepreneurship.  You will also develop your critical thinking, cross-cultural communication and problem-solving and the insights gained will provide you with a reflective and socially responsible view of business, recognising that global management is not just about profit, but also about ethical and sustainable impact.

With over 30 years' experience of delivering distance learning education, our courses have been designed to give you the flexibility to manage your study around your existing commitments and enhance your career prospects without having to leave employment, as well as the opportunity to build your global network.
