School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences
Our Facilities
We have a range of facilities to support our students and staff in the Ken Edwards building, Percy Gee building and the library.
Percy Gee Computer Lab
Opened in September 2021, the Percy Gee Lab offers individual and group work spaces for practical tutorial sessions, as well as independent study outside of timetabled activities. With your student ID card, you will have 24/7 access to our excellent teaching facilities, which are only available to students in the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences. You can either work on a variety of Linux distributions available to you or start a virtual machine running Windows for your programming activities or other project work.
David Wilson Library Computer Lab
Opened in 2023/24 and based in the David Wilson library, this is currently the newest lab available to students at the University of Leicester. It is used for practical as well as tutorial sessions for Computing students and supports both individual and group work study. During taught sessions, the staff member delivering is able to display their session content on a TV at the end of each row of student PCs, to ensure that you can see what is going on from wherever you sit in the computer lab. Outside of timetabled sessions, you will be able to access and use this lab individually or together with a group of your peers.
Student Study and Social Space
A space exclusive to Computing and Mathematical Science students to relax and/ or study during free time on campus.
