Arrival

Moving into your accommodation

You will be able to move into University accommodation at the start of semester. Upon arrival in Leicester, you should go directly to your accommodation following the instructions given to you by Accommodation Services or your landlord.

Some students like to arrive early. The two main pre-sessional activities (which run before the start of the academic year) are the Study Skills Course, and the International Welcome Week.

Welcome week

You are invited and strongly encouraged to attend the Welcome Week.

This takes place the week before the start of the academic year and is a set of activities and informative talks and to help your orientation to the University. University accommodation will be available during the Welcome Week.

There is also a Welcome Programme in late January for students starting in the second semester.

If you are starting in September and are interested in coming to Leicester earlier, why not attend the Study Skills Course. This is a three-week course aimed at improving your academic skills and introducing you to academic practice at Leicester. The course will also give you chance to meet new people from all over the world before the start of the academic year. The Study Skills course runs for 2 weeks, from early to late September. Please contact the study skills coordinator for further information.
