Leicester has a distinct community focus. You will get to know your lecturers and tutors, and they'll get to know you, your passions and your talents. You will be challenged to strive for excellence, but will always be supported throughout your journey by your personal tutor. Your personal tutor will give you advice and support not just around your studies but also your career plans, your workload and personal, financial or health matters. If they can’t help directly, they’ll know where you can find the help or support that you need.
Blackboard, our virtual learning environment gives you access to everything that you need for your course online. You can find lecture slides and notes uploaded by your tutors, as well as reading lists and links to any online resources. You work online with you friends as well as find out about timetabling and important announcements from your department.
We know different students prefer to learn in different ways and at different paces; we record our teaching sessions and make the recording available for students to view via blackboard giving them the flexibility and control to view a lecture in their own time.
Our Learning Development Team offers a range of resources and support to help you develop your academic skills. You can access online courses, printed or downloadable guides, take part in workshops or even have a one-to-one consultation - it’s all designed to be flexible and tailored to fit around you
